Socorro Islands (Revillagigedo Archipelago)

June 3, 2022:

Socorro Island:

For our third day of diving, we moved to Socorro Island, the largest of the four islands comprising the Revillagigedo Archipelago.

We dove three times at the signature dive site of the island, Cabo Pierce, an underwater ridge extending eastward from the east side of Socorro Island.

This ridge serves as a cleaning station, with frequent visitors including Giant Oceanic Manta Rays!

During our first dive of the day, we were lucky enough to encounter three such rays “flying” over the ridge.

Today, I’d like to share several of my favorite images of one of these Oceanic Mantas, being cleaned by attractive Clarion Angelfish.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!
