A Few More From Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary:

Today, I’d like to share a few additional images from the Mecklenburg Audubon Society outing at our local Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary on October 28, 2021:

Three photos of a Cooper’s Hawk; Carolina Wren; White-throated Sparrow; American Robin; two shots of Canada Geese; Song Sparrow; and a Red-bellied Woodpecker.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!

Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary:

Before we received some much-needed rain yesterday afternoon, October 28, 2021, I spent an enjoyable and productive, mostly overcast morning at our local Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary, with an amiable group from the Mecklenburg Audubon Society.

We encountered 37 avian species during our walk!

My favorite was a fearless little American Kestrel, who intermittently interrupted its preening while perched on a cable high overhead, with dive bombing a significantly larger Cooper’s Hawk!

Today, I’d like to share an initial batch of images from this outing:

Five photos of the intrepid American Kestrel; two shots of a Killdeer; two images of Eastern Phoebes; and a Northern Cardinal.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!
