Lower McAlpine Creek Greenway:

Yesterday, October 21, 2021, I joined a small, but intrepid, group from the Mecklenburg Audubon Society at the Lower McAlpine Creek Greenway, a short 15 minute drive from our home.

The early morning was a bit brisk, but the bright Sun soon warmed up the air!

The unquestioned avian “stars of the show” were three imperturbable Red-shouldered Hawks, who provided us with excellent encounters!

As we head into the weekend, I’d like to share several images of these impressive raptors.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!
