Another McAlpine Creek Park Finale:
The sun has returned, and it’s a beautiful Winter’s morning here in Charlotte, NC!
To brighten up your weekend a little, I’d like to share a final set of images from my excellent December 18th visit to our local McAlpine Creek Park:
Two photographs of a Northern Mockingbird; Red-bellied Woodpecker; four images of Red-shouldered Hawks; and a European Starling.

Another Rainy Day:
Today is yet another dark and rainy day in Charlotte, NC! The mountainous western part of our State has already received at least 6 inches of snow!
I am tucked inside, sitting at my computer, continuing to review images from my December 18th outing at McAlpine Creek Park.
For your viewing pleasure, here is an additional group of photos from this sunny morning of birding:
Two images of Canada Geese; Eastern Bluebird; two photographs of American Robins; Yellow-rumped Warbler; two images of Downy Woodpeckers; and an Eastern Phoebe.
Enjoy!
Stay safe and have a great day!

McAlpine Creek Park Beaver Pond Activity:
Yesterday’s brazen and cowardly frontal assault on our Democracy upset me so much that I could not concentrate sufficiently to get together an online post.
Today, with the certification of the Biden/Harris victory accomplished, and a return of some semblance of normalcy and calm to our Nation’s capital, I am thinking more clearly, and able to function.
So, I’d like to share a set of images from in and around the Beaver Pond at McAlpine Creek Park, captured during my December 18th visit:
Great Egret; Pine Siskin; two photographs of Double-crested Cormorants; two images of Mallards in flight; a pair of Brown-headed Cowbirds (I Think); two photos of a Great Blue Heron; and a Song Sparrow.
Enjoy!
Stay safe and have a great day!
