Back In The Backyard:
This past Sunday, September 5, 2021, shortly before noon, I spotted one of “our” Barred Owls resting in our woods.
Based on its appearance and behavior, I think that it was most likely one of the two Barred Owlets.
However, the Owlets are now so adult-like in appearance, that it is becoming quite difficult to distinguish them from Mama and Papa Barred Owls.
The relatively large size of the Owlet leads me to guess that it is most likely female, though I’m not sure.
