A Few More Photos From McAlpine Creek Park:
Although I spent most of the morning of August 13, 2021, at McAlpine Creek Park imaging the “Rockstar Osprey,” I did spend a little time photographing other species.
Today, for a little diversion, I’d like to share several shots of these other species:
Wood Duckling; two images of a Great Blue Heron; Mallard; Eastern Phoebe; Carolina Wren; Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly; a pair of Mallards in flight; and two additional photos of Wood Ducks.

The Osprey’s Adventures Continue!
As the weekend draws to a close, and as we continue to receive some much-needed rain, I am still plodding through images from my enjoyable and productive visit to McAlpine Creek Park last Friday, August 13, 2021.
Today, I would like to share several additional photos of the impressive Osprey hunting that morning.
The penultimate shot, depicts the Osprey unsuccessfully trying to land in a tree already occupied by a GRUMPY Great Blue Heron.
The final image features the Osprey with a fish in its talons, flying past a pair of Wood Ducks.

Friday The Thirteenth:
I spent this morning, Friday, August 13, 2021, at McAlpine Creek Park, one of my local “Go-To Places.”
Based on recent eBird reports, I had hoped to find an Osprey there, and I wasn’t disappointed!
Easily the star of today’s show was this Osprey, skillfully hunting in both the Park’s Beaver Pond and Lake.
As I review images from this morning’s outing, I would like to share an initial set of photos of this graceful raptor in action.
