“Santa Claus” Woodpeckers:
On this Christmas day, I thought it would be fun to share several images of a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers, that I encountered during a December 18th visit to our local McAlpine Creek Park.
With their brilliant red caps, somewhat reminiscent of Santa Claus, these impressive birds provided me with a wonderful photographic opportunity.
It was the first time ever that I have photographed two Pileated Woodpeckers together!
Quite a nice Christmas treat!
