Irwin Creek Greenway:
This past Saturday morning, January 25, 2025, I went birding with a small Mecklenburg Audubon Society group at the Irwin Creek Greenway, located quite close to “Uptown” Charlotte, NC.
It was my first visit to this location.
I was pleasantly surprised that, despite its proximity to the city, the greenway comprises a nice variety of habitats attractive to numerous avian species.
The morning was quite cold, but there was no wind and brilliant sunshine!
Today I’d like to share the first of three sets of my favorite images from this outing:
