Steven’s Creek Nature Preserve:

This past Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024, was a great time to be out birding with fellow Mecklenburg Audubon Society members at the Steven’s Creek Nature Preserve, located in nearby Mint Hill, NC!

It was relatively cool, and there were beautiful blue skies and brilliant sunshine!

Unfortunately, the birding was relatively slow, and most birds that we encountered were high up and/or far away.

One notable exception was a Magnolia Warbler that we spotted towards the end of our walk.

It was relatively low down, close by, and oblivious to us as it breakfasted on caterpillars!

Here are several of my favorite images from our enjoyable morning at the Steven’s Creek Nature Preserve:

Five photos of the Magnolia Warbler; a chatty White-eyed Vireo; a soaring Turkey Vulture; and a perched Eastern Wood-Pewee.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!
