Catawba College Nature Preserve:
Yesterday morning, for the first time I visited the Catawba College Nature Preserve, located in Salisbury, NC, along with a small congenial group from the Mecklenburg Audubon Society.
It is a lovely spot for birding, and the weather was gorgeous!
The stars of the show were two photogenic and cooperative Prothonotary Warblers!
Here are several of my favorite images from this enjoyable outing:
Four photos of the Prothonotary Warblers, (one of which has leg bands); Great Egret; White-eyed Vireo; Blue Jay; Red-bellied Woodpecker; Blue-gray Gnatcatcher; and a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
