Carolina Raptor Center

PhotoWild:

On Saturday, October 7, 2023, I participated in the “PhotoWild” program at the Carolina Raptor Center (CRC).

Three “PhotoWild” sessions are held biannually each year at the CRC.

These events allow up to 25 photographers to image 14 or 15 resident raptors, presented outside of their usual enclosures by the skilled CRC staff.

The majority of the raptor stars are placed on perches.

In addition, typically, three avian subjects walk and/or fly by.

It’s a great photo op, a fun morning, and an opportunity to donate money and images to the CRC!

Here are several of my favorite shots from this recent “PhotoWild” session:

Two images of an Abyssinian Ground Hornbill; Saker Falcon; Barred Owl; Red-legged Seriema; American Kestrel; Eurasian Eagle Owl; Lanner Falcon; Great Horned Owl; and a Black Vulture in flight.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!
