More Bald Eagles of Jordan Lake:
Here are several of my favorite Bald Eagle images from the second half of my February 6, 2023 afternoon at Jordan Lake.
You’ll notice that a Double-crested Cormorant is included in a couple of the photos.
Stay safe, and have a great Valentine’s Day!

The Bald Eagles of Jordan Lake:
I am going to take a brief break from posting images from my recent trip to the Solomon Islands.
On Thursday, February 2, 2023, I drove to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to go birding in the area for the next three days with a small group from the Mecklenburg Audubon Society.
During my return trip to Charlotte, on Monday, February 6th, I stopped near the southern tip of Jordan Lake, just below the B. Everett Jordan Dam, and spent the afternoon observing and photographing Bald Eagles.
The Eagles like to fish in the water flowing through the dam’s spillways.
It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, during the course of which I was lucky enough to encounter at least six or seven Bald Eagles!
Today and tomorrow, I’ll post, in chronological order, some of my favorite images of the Eagles.
You’ll notice that in the sixth photo in today’s series, by chance a Great Blue Heron flew into the frame right next to the Bald Eagle that I was observing!
I hope that you enjoy these images!
Stay safe, and have a great day!
