“PhotoWILD” Finale:
It’s another damp and dreary day here in Charlotte, NC.
I just finished reviewing the last of my images from the fun “PhotoWILD” Program held on November 12, 2022, at the Carolina Raptor Center.
Today’s post features photos of the two avian stars of the flying phase of the morning, Bindi, a loquacious female Laughing Kookaburra, and Nebari, an impressive male Black Vulture.
Enjoy!
Stay safe, and have a great day!

“PhotoWILD”:
Last Saturday, November 12, 2022, I participated in the “PhotoWILD” program at the Carolina Raptor Center, located in Huntersville, NC.
It was a fun three-hour session, from 8-11 AM, during which a total of 11 perched raptors, one prancing raptor, and two flying birds, (one of which was a raptor), were presented, one or two at a time, to a group of approximately 20 photographers, by four extremely skilled staff members of the Carolina Raptor Center (CRC).
We photographers had an opportunity to observe and photograph these trained avian ambassadors at relatively close range.
Although it was clearly not a “wild” experience in Nature, the morning provided excellent photographic opportunities, as well as a chance to learn more about each bird presented, by informally questioning their very knowledgeable CRC trainers.
By collecting participant fees, the “PhotoWILD” program raised around $1,000, which will be used to further the CRC’s mission!
Here are a few of my favorite images of the first two perched raptors that were presented:
An attractive female Spectacled Owl named “Estrella”, and a sleek male Lanner Falcon named “Monty.”
Enjoy!
Stay safe, and have a great day!
