October 10, 2024:
McDowell Nature Preserve:
Last Thursday morning, October 3, 2024, I went birding on the Piedmont Prairie Trail, located in our local McDowell Nature Preserve.
Early on, it was quite foggy, and the lighting was challenging. 
But as the morning progressed, it became beautiful and sunny! 
Here are several of my favorite images from this enjoyable outing:
Red-headed Woodpecker; Yellow-rumped Warbler; Eastern Phoebe; House Finch; a loquacious Red-shouldered Hawk; Song Sparrow; Northern Mockingbird; Tufted Titmouse; Field Sparrow; and a Palm Warbler.
