Jackson Park:

I spent last Saturday, September 17, 2022, birding at Jackson Park in Henderson, NC, with an experienced and amiable group from the Mecklenburg Audubon Society.

The 110-mile drive from my home in Charlotte, NC was well worth it!

The day began with a little fog, and resultant poor lighting.

However, the fog quickly burned off, and it became a beautiful, sunny late Summer day!

We encountered 55 avian species during our walk, including at least a dozen warbler species!

I plan to share some of my favorite images from this outing in two posts today, and two more tomorrow.

Here is the first set of photos:

Three shots of a Chestnut-sided Warbler; Hairy Woodpecker; Red-shouldered Hawk; three images of Eastern Wood-Pewees; and two photos of Cape May Warblers.

Enjoy!

Stay safe, and have a great day!
