Orangeburg, SC Sod Farm:
This past Sunday, August 29, 2021, I spent an enjoyable morning birding with an amiable Mecklenburg Audubon Society group at a sod farm on the coastal plain in Orangeburg, SC.
As usual, it was a learning experience for me, because most group members were more experienced and skilled birders than I.
The outing was a little tough from a photographic point of view, because subjects were generally quite far away.
Nonetheless, it was fun, and I came away with a few decent images.
Today, for your enjoyment, I’d like to share a first set of photos:
Three shots of a Snowy Egret; a pair of Mourning Doves in flight; Clouded Sulphur Butterfly; three Killdeer; a mixed flock of Killdeer & Pectoral Sandpipers in flight; and a couple of images of a Barn Swallow in flight.
(I plan to post a few additional images from the sod farm tomorrow.)
Enjoy!
Stay safe and have a great day!
