Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary

April 26, 2021:

A Good Day!

Today was a beautiful Spring day here in Charlotte, NC!

I spent an enjoyable and productive morning birding at McAlpine Creek Park, where I encountered a few pleasant avian surprises!

At home, in the late afternoon, I observed and photographed a backyard Barred Owl behavior, which I had not previously witnessed!

I plan to post images from today in the near future, once I have had a chance to review them.

Stay tuned!

In the meantime, I have finished reviewing the photos from my April 12th visit to Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary.

I would like to share a several additional images from this outing, featuring a very obliging and photogenic Great Blue Heron:

Mourning Dove in flight; four shots of the Great Blue Heron; Song Sparrow; Cedar Waxwing; Chipping Sparrow; and two photos of a Red-shouldered Hawk in flight.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!
