Recent Backyard Sightings:
Mama and Papa Barred Owl continue to use our owl box.
No Barred Owlet heads have poked out of the box yet. One or more will appear soon, I hope!
Mama Barred Owl continues to spend her days in the box. Papa Barred Owl spends his days mainly sleepng in a few favorite spots in our yard, known to us.
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have also begun to visit our backyard. They are particularly fond of the native Coral Honeysuckle, which is now blooming.
Today, for your enjoyment, I’d like to share seven images of Papa Barred Owl from the past few days, and three shots of a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird from a couple of days ago.
