McAlpine Creek Park

One Year Anniversary:

Today marks exactly one year since I returned home from a wonderful five week trip to Indonesia.

Coincidentally, it is also now exactly two weeks since I received my second dose of the Moderna vaccine against the novel coronavirus.

So much has transpired over the difficult past year!

With the onset of Spring, however, I feel a new hope that, here in the USA, we may be “rounding the corner” of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

I believe that it is within our power to hasten the end of this scourge!

When it is your turn, please get vaccinated!

Please continue to follow the recommended public health measures of masking and socially distancing!

We are ALL in this together!

In order to return to some semblance of “normalcy,” we ALL must do our part!

As we head into the weekend, for a little pleasant distraction, I would like to share several images of two pairs of Red-shouldered Hawks, that I encountered during my March 8th visit to McAlpine Creek Park.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!

Another Rainy Day:

The last couple of days have been overcast and rainy here in Charlotte, NC.

My camera and I have stayed cooped up at home.

To brighten up your day a little, I’d like to share a few more images from my March 8th visit to McAlpine Creek Park:

Five photos of quarreling Canada Geese; and a shot of a cute little Pied-billed Grebe.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!

McAlpine Creek Park:

On March 8th, I had a very enjoyable and productive visit to McAlpine Creek Park.

Over the next five days, I would like to share some of my favorite images from this outing.

Today, I’ll start with a set of photographs from the Park’s Beaver Pond:

Seven shots of Wood Ducks, the third of which is a frontal view of a pair of Wood Ducks mating; and three images of a pair of Belted Kingfishers.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!
