Here Comes The Sun!

For the first time in a week, the Sun has returned to Charlotte, NC!

It was still blustery early this morning, but it was great to get out once again with my camera to our local McAlpine Creek Park!

For your viewing pleasure today, here is a final set of images from my prior visit to the Park on February 4th:

Three photographs of a Belted Kingfisher; two shots of Canada Geese; Eastern Bluebird; and three images of a Great Blue Heron.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!

Cabin Fever:

It remains dreary and wet here in Charlotte, NC. I am still cooped up inside.

Hopefully, the Sun will peek out tomorrow, and I will get out of the house and into a little Nature.

We’ll see!

In the meantime, to brighten up your day a little, here are a few more images from my enjoyable and productive February 4th visit to McAlpine Creek Park:

Four photographs of American Crows; Eastern Phoebe; and five additional shots of the Hooded Mergansers.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!

Rain Rain Go Away:

We are once again in the middle of a series of wet and dreary days here in Charlotte, NC.

The temperature is hovering just above freezing, so we are receiving rain, rather than frozen precipitation.

I remain sequestered inside, warm and dry, reviewing photographs from recent outings.

For your viewing pleasure today, I would like to share another set of images from my February 4th visit to McAlpine Creek Park.

I have been encountering Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, Winter visitors to our region, on a regular basis recently. So I would like to feature one today:

Five photographs of a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker; two images of Double-crested Cormorants; two shots of Mallards; and a Ring-billed Gull.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!

Back To McAlpine Creek Park:

On February 4th, my camera and I returned to McAlpine Creek Park, one of my local “Go-To” places.

Shortly after sunrise, as I usually do, I headed over to the Beaver Pond, to see who was around.

Luckily for me, a lovely pair of Hooded Mergansers was visiting, and remained for a while.

As we head into the weekend, for your viewing pleasure, I would like to share several images of this attractive avian duo.

Enjoy!

Stay safe and have a great day!
