Rock Star Raptor:
As a nature photographer, occasionally I come across an extremely photogenic subject that seems to actually enjoy being photographed. Such was the case during my October 21, 2020 morning visit to our local Clarks Creek Nature Preserve.
During this outing, I encountered a large, (likely female), juvenile Red-tailed Hawk. This impressive raptor permitted me to approach relatively close, struck numerous interesting poses as it intermittentently preened and hunted for breakfast, and flew to several nearby locations during the morning, providing me with multiple photographic opportunities.
The encounter was a blast, and resulted in many compelling images!
I plan to devote today’s, and my next few posts to photographs of this Rock Star Raptor.
I hope that you enjoy viewing these images, almost as much as I enjoyed creating them!
Happy Halloween!
Stay safe and have a great day!
